Berschneider was founded in 1966 by master butcher Kurt Berschneider, as a crafts business in Hamburg. In 1994, the company was relocated to Valluhn near Zarrentin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This was when family Dieterle, its current owners, took over the company and steadily expanded it each year.
In our region in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, people are sturdy, honest, and can lend a hand – which is why we are very proud that this is where we create our delicious cold cuts for households and families all over Germany, supported by our more than 150 employees.
Berschneider became well-known for our inimitably delicious meat specialties, which we have been preparing according to the best recipes over more than five decades. Nowadays, we serve our delicacies right where we are most successful: in the refrigerated counter of your supermarket!

As a German producer located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in the industrial park Valluhn/Gallin directly adjacent to the highway A24, we provide our trading partners with the highest quality and superior food safety at competitive prices.
We are renowned for our rolled fillet of ham specialties, which are regularly awarded and honored by the German Agricultural Society; furthermore, our range comprises other tasty specialties. While we focus on pork products, we would also be happy to supply you with poultry delicacies. Our unique selling point is our packaged cold meats for self-service. While consumers appreciate the convenience, freshness, and hygiene of self-service, the easy handling and the valuable cost savings in preparing and servicing our range of products are attractive to our trading partners.
We package our products in a “controlled atmosphere”. In the process, the atmospheric oxygen is extracted from inside the packaging and exchanged for nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Freshness and flavor are thus ideally preserved and guarantee an exquisite pleasure experience right until the sell-by date. We buy our meat from select suppliers. Our quality guarantee is based on our high standards in purchasing our raw materials. Subsequently, the meat product is processed by our qualified employees at our Valluhn site. Needless to say, we check each batch for hygiene and food safety. Our personal hygiene and our cooling and storage technologies are also checked on a daily basis. Our philosophy is: To deliver healthy, delicious, and safe foods at the best possible price. Our successful market position is secured by a strict compliance with our quality standards.
Our ongoing investments in the profitability of our production and the quality of our products enable us to offer exquisite goods at low prices. We are certified according to the IFS Food Standard and certainly operate in line with the standards of the German meat industry’s collective bargaining agreement.
